I have developed these principles; inspired by a few arenas.
Ray Dalio — “Principles: Life and Work”
A past marketing professor
Articles, like this one, about admiration for the lives of “successful” others, such as certain businessmen
These principles are not original and unconventional. Rather, I formed them as a way to guide my goals in life. (An examination of my goals is found at a later post).
Over time, I intend to live by these maxims in order to blossom into the best person I can be.
The principles are as follows:
Life goes on, everyone faces something different, and to understand them, takes a lot of time.
Friends that are close are hard to find - treat them well.
People live their own lives, to be immersed in others, is unique.
I work hard. I learn a lot. Both those things together will get me far, in whatever I choose to do.
Living life is done by many. Take part, and ride the wave.
The future will be great, but it is still unknown. Nonetheless, it will be how I take it on; great.
SO many people want to learn, albeit about different things. Find those so many people and talk with them.
Life is not easy - who said it was? I can, though, deal with it as best as I can.
People are immersed in themselves, yet, friends will care about you.
Death is interesting; is it a time to be joyous or melancholy?
I know a lot about energy, am passionate, and it will shine through, if I position myself to enable it.
Others have interests, to varying degrees - know what they are, and connect accordingly.
Everyone is living… Myopia can easily set in…
People's logic and reasoning is very different from mine, often.
Minds work very differently - it is hard to try and truly understand everyone, and thus, their reasoning.
Others are all going through something… be patient.
Focus on being your best self and it will be okay with others.
Everyone is in the quarantine, more or less.
To each their own; act accordingly.
Values on items and objects differ, but feeling can remain shared throughout.
People are different - find those that you want to learn from and live with, and spend time with them.
Simple solutions generate answers, albeit non-contextual ones.
Others' have their own lives; learning from them is forever interesting.
Finding solitude requires time alone, away from all and everything.
Mental state plays a lot; recognize it, understand it, plan to act, and act to navigate it.
When life feels fleeting, take a moment to appreciate it around you; it is everywhere.
Create/do: I need to go out and do, stop thinking sometimes, and do.
When I am doing, do in the moment and stop thinking about outside .
If nothing else, better yourself; it will pay dividends at some point in the future.
Investing in yourself will pay dividends; the cash flow though, is uncertain.
When challenges come ahead, that is when you are tested and have the ability to further yourself most.
I appreciate my friends and family; I am loved by others, yes.
Pushing myself towards goals is inherently uncomfortable, yet needed.
Man communicates, yet nature lives.
Uncertainty is an option; I can create certainty, and feelings of it, with effort.
Weather changes often, and so do people; know thyself, and days will be better lived.
Help is needed, in any area of life - asking, accepting, and giving it are all imperative.
Helping people is a choice that should not be done lightly.
I love my family, even among the craziness.
Everyone needs time together to talk - to do so, makes us human.
My life is changing, always, and it is best to keep going amidst the change.
One's focus is on own's self, in one way or another.
Family is family; it is not replicable.
Time flies; best to spend it to my liking.
To each their own, yet to their own, at minimal, thought.
Life goes on, so I need to adjust my own life accordingly.
Excitement and anger stem from the same object: oneself.
A successful person achieves what they set out to do.
To be edited, as time goes on.
